We had our open house this week at the Lucas' home. Shelley had a tent put up in her backyard along with catered food for the event. We ate tons of desserts (the table I always head to first), pizza, meatball sliders, caprese, and yummy slushy drinks.
Many ward members and friends came, along with my sister and bro-in-law Amy and Jason, JD's parents and then other close friends. We also had the young women come! They put together an activity where everyone who
came picked a stick with a question on it and wrote their advice or experience on a card. The girls are going to take these cards and make a book for JD and I. It will be very cute! They told me what some of the cards said -- some funny, some cute; others -- very sweet and heart-felt. I am so excited to get this book!
JD also welcomed everyone to our party -- you can see that picture right above. He told everyone what they can do to help us out -- how to use the pass-along cards.
