Backpacking on the Colorado Trail

JD and I, along with another couple, took some girls from church on an over-night backpacking trip this summer on the Colorado Trail.  Everything went really well with the exception of the downpour a 1/4 of a mile from camp and then continued on and off for the whole trip.  JD actually drove a car to the campsite, so we didn't have to pack in our tents or food!  We ate well.  I like this kind of backpacking.

Here we are on the Colorado Trail over-looking Jefferson, CO.

Notice how JD is merely wearing a Camel Back backpack and I have on a real (though very old) backpacking pack.  But, just as an FYI, he did offer to carry my pack, but I couldn't have him carry it while the teenage girls I was leading were carrying their own heavy packs.  He did though, carry a girl's pack for awhile to give her a break.
